The 2023-2024 Asia Pacific Property Awards showcased the best of the region's architectural and design talent. Among the esteemed winners was us, LL Redefine Renovation & Design Sdn Bhd (LLRRD), a renowned firm based in Malaysia. We secured prestigious awards in two categories: Landscape Architecture for Malaysia and Residential Interior Apartment for Malaysia. Let's delve into the details of their award-winning projects and the inspiration behind them.
Baosteel Can Making Landscape Design: An Emblem of Unity and Motion
LLRRD's landscape design for Baosteel Can Making stood out in the category of Landscape Architecture for Malaysia. The design of the sculpture was inspired by the interplay between the intricate forms of moving water and the constant movement of people. The sculpture's central circular motif symbolizes unity, with individuals converging along the moving lines. It reflects the spirit of Baosteel, where the essence lies within its people rather than a physical form.
The Choice of Colors: Symbolism and Meaning
Drawing inspiration from Baosteel's logo, we incorporated specific colors into our award-winning sculpture. Light blue, representing diversification and the blue ocean strategy, evokes a sense of expansion and growth. Yellow, symbolizing vitality and vigor, adds a burst of energy to the design. Finally, reflecting enthusiasm, red brings a dynamic and passionate element to the composition. The combination of these colors creates a visually striking and meaningful representation.
A Voyage of Unity and Resilience
When viewed from a distance, the sculpture resembles a voyage of a sailing ship, navigating through wind and waves. This imagery symbolizes the collaborative spirit of LLRRD, the project consultants, and the entire team involved in bringing this vision to life. It is a testament to their resilience, as they face new challenges together, united in their pursuit of excellence.
Acknowledgments to the Collaborators
The success of LLRRD's award-winning projects would not have been possible without the contributions of several individuals and firms. A special mention goes to See Kuan Lim Architect from Australia Sydney, who provided valuable consultancy services. Nippon Ong Interior Design offered essential on-site support, while Charles served as the main architect, providing the original design concept. Working closely with Charles, Andy Tan presented a range of options for the client, with the selected design ultimately leading to their victory. LLRRD's landscaping design team also played a crucial role in bringing the project to fruition.
The recognition received by LLRRD at the 2023-2024 Asia Pacific Property Awards highlights our outstanding talent and commitment to excellence. The award-winning projects in Landscape Architecture and Residential Interior Apartment categories showcase our ability to create designs that are not only visually stunning but also imbued with meaning. With the support of our collaborators, LLRRD has proven its prowess in the architectural and design industry, solidifying its position as a leader in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region.
